yikes...

1) Comment with your name and I'll write something about you.
2) I'll then tell what song reminds me of you.
3) I'll tell you what celebrity you remind me of.
4) I will try to use a single word to best describe you.
5) I'll tell you the most memorable moment I've had with you.
6) I'll tell you what color you remind me of.
7) I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.

Woo Yoke Mayne Says about Bubba

1) When the chips are down, you are always there for anyone - no exceptions.
2) Theme to Rocky. Takes a licking but always ends up on top - maybe sooner, maybe later, but always ends up on top.
3) Harrison Ford - I have heard this guy give a couple of talks. I am amazed at this level of understanding and comprehension of the world around him. For example, this guy actually understands why America is not the most well liked nation on earth. This guy gets it.
4) Integrity
5) I know what to say, but I will tell you this personally .... if you want to know
6) Clear - no colour. No interpretations required, no hidden meanings. You are a straight forward kind of guy.
7) How did you come to know so many gorgeous women? You should write a book in this regard!

soapyDave said...

Thanks, Al - these are some great comments. #7 definitely an evolutionist. I also think that Brink Pink suits me just fine. And I also agree that Autumn's perfect as Atomic Tangeringe. Now if only being a raconteur came with a salary!

bubba said...

soapyDave: i'm shocked that you're an evolutionist. glad you like brink pink. i've had second thoughts about autumn's colour. yes, she's hot but i should i feel now that bittersweet is more appropriate.

you can make money being a raconteur. just get on the talk show circuit...

Hey Al, I have a few questions about what you wrote. First, Mrs Robinson? Really? Why?

Second, who is Harvey Peckar? Is it cause we have similar hair? Haha?

In response to you:
Haven't had dog yet. One day I might.
Fav. slide film is Kodak e100VS. My shots blow me away when I use it. It is the only Kodak film I touch. I've tried others to varying degrees of disappointment. Fav. neg is, hmm it's been a while. Fuji Superia 100. But I might get into 400 speed. See how it goes.

bubba said...

mrs. robinson? because my knowledge of music is somewhat limited... the pressure of these quizzes is immense... i'll try to think of something better.

who is harvey pekar? he's actually quite different than you. but there are some similarities. what i'm saying is it's difficult to compare my friends to celebrities. everyone has their own unique qualities. i digress. harvey pekar used to be a guess on the old letterman show when it was on nbc. for his entire working life harvey worked as a file clerk at a veterans hospital in the states. on the side he published a semi-popular comic book based on his life as a file clerk. harvey was an intense, intense guy. quite serious. david letterman is not so intense, always looking for levity. so, whenever letterman strayed off topic, harvey would appear disgusted or just glare at him. it was just hilarious. letterman realized how serious harvey was and just milked it for all it was worth. harvey's appearances were stuff of legendary proportions. haha!!! check out www.harveypekar.com. he's quite the eccentric.

my sis tried to eat dog when touring china. relatives discouraged the practice even if it was a trial.

i tried and liked 100VS myself on my tibet trip. excellent color reproduction and saturation. i'm switching to fuji provia 100F for the next trip. apparently the "pushability" with this film is better than the kodak film. i'm not sure about 400 speed, i've tried it. looked ok. the graininess is frowned on by "pros". it's supposed to better to "push" a slower film like provia 100F or kodachrome 200 than it is to use a 400 speed film.

of course, we're all waiting for the premiere of the japanese version of fuji velvia 100 in north america. hopefully, that's going to occur this summer.

parabolicant said...

Velvia is nice too. Provia is good. I would love to be able to push my film here but the photo lab I go to would scratch their heads in a curious manner if I tried to tell them that I pushed my film.

bubba said...

there must be a lab that processes film for pro's nearby or have they all migrated to digital?

parabolicant said...

THey're all in Taipei. I could get it done there, but that would be like you commuting to Red Deer to get your film done.

dillan,
1) you are a man among boys. plus, your sister is hot...
2) naturally, "the thrill is gone" or "midnight train to georgia".
3) stanley the penguin or jerry lewis or bob dylan (even though you can probably sing better than him).
4) meticulous.
5) that time we were in the kensington starbucks, i think you were having a latte, and i did my vietnam war action slo motion impersonation where i bravely jumped on an imaginary landmine to save my fellow customers from being blown away. all this while benjamin barber's adagio for strings was playing over the p.a... i cracked several ribs. i forgot. your wedding/reception was fun too.
6) laser lemon #50
7) where in the world would you bicycle to if you could? when are you moving to digital...? when are you taking out your indonesian citizenship papers...?
